Children who read more outside of the classroom retain more of their decoding and reading skills and they progress faster. Our program works because we’ve enhanced every element over the past 10 years.
Student desire to read is revved up because they:
Choose their new books from an extensive colorful catalog, of over 120 award-winning favorites; color-coded to match their reading level.
Anticipate each book’s arrival, waiting for each to come to their door, in their name.
Get to keep their books, guilt-free, at no cost to the family.
Get to move another space forward in a gamified, mobile app when they complete each book.

Each book comes with a title-specific Discovery Sheet on the inside cover. These sheets guide parents in asking the reflection and comprehension questions covering text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections.
We regularly encourage and incentivize parents to participate with friendly text reminders, a mobile and web app where they can access the Discovery Sheet in any of 150 languages, and a gamified experience for their child. In our summer program, children who read all of their books receive a prize.
And one more value-add, we give additional activities for parents and kids to Discover More! (complementary books, topics, videos and, well, more!)

Teachers love that their role is quick and simple. They direct students to choose their book titles from the color-coded grouping of books based on leveled reading. For pre-readers they help each student choose their books in our digital or print catalog. We do everything else. Once the program has started, our easy-to-access online portal allows teachers to see the books students have chosen as well as the status of mailed and completed books.

Print Books Kids Own
Readers of print books absorb and remember more than readers of ebooks and owning the books adds a level of self-worth that is immeasurable.
Books Mailed Home
Kids love getting packages in the mail in their name. The pleasure of anticipating and finally receiving each book enhances their overall pleasure in reading the book.
Reading Levels
Books are grouped and color-coded in reading levels to help educators assign the proper grouping for each student to choose from.
Book Variety
Bilingual books, multiethnic books, SEL books, Award Winners, Series books, Read To Me, Fiction/Nonfiction, and Student Favorites
School District Book Choice
If needed, we can remove a book title(s) on our online portal for that district. Sometimes, with enough advance notice, we can add book titles to our list!
Parent Portal
We offer four simple ways for parents to report books read: a simple phone call, texting, website, or mobile app. The mobile app offers many more features for parents.
Discovery Sheets
Guide parents to ask 4 questions that enhance comprehension. Non-English-fluent parents access Discovery Sheets in their language in the mobile app.
